WEDNESDAY 21ST DECEMBER

After the excitement of the music quiz the previous evening, breakfast was met with a real buzz in the air. Blue skies were overhead and the wind had dropped significantly overnight, resulting in near perfect conditions for skiing (although some more snow would be nice!).

The students started the day nice and early (an ongoing occurrence it seems), whizzing off with the Ecole du Ski Français instructors straight after breakfast. The progression in ability over the last three days has been phenomenal with the beginners starting to complete parallel turns having spent the last few days perfecting the snowplough technique. The intermediate and advanced ski groups are now more than capable of exploring the entire ski area available in Les Menuires, with poles being used to initiate turns and some even carving down the piste.

Beautiful views were evident today, with many of the ski groups opting to participate in extra ski sessions with St Johns staff members, reaching the top of the ski area with stunning views over Mont Blanc - the highest mountain in the Alps, rising to 4,808.73 metres above sea level.

Today's evening entertainment consisted of a creative team-working task titled 'The Bin Bag Challenge'. Those involved had to frantically collect ten fancy dress items, to which they were given several tasks to complete. The winning team won giant milkshakes at the bar!!
