SATURDAY 17TH DECEMBER

The travel day

Waving goodbye to our loved ones, we set on a trip that many of us will remember for  a LONG LONG TIME! But little did we know that the coaches that we transferred on to, at Kent, were previously used by the Barcelona football team, on their way to Wembley to play against Liverpool earlier this summer. Some lucky lads sat in the same seats as Suarez and Messi!

It was a long and gruelling journey, 18 hours to be exact, but it was a good time well spent with our friends. At 8am we pulled over into the traditional breakfast stop for this trip (Macon). Everyone enjoyed a croissant or a full English, accompanied by a hot drink.

After a couple more toilet stops, we arrived at our hotel with a breath-taking backdrop of mountains. Upon arrival we were greeted by a wholesome lunch by the hotel staff. Steaming hot soup with fresh warm bread. Finally we were given at chance to relax and settle into our rooms. Some people decided to use their free time to have a nose around town and buy gifts for their families at home. And the moment that we all were waiting for, we gathered to receive our ski equipment. Helmets, ski poles, boots and skis. All raring to go for tomorrow!
